Big Draw 2000 London Launch
The First Big Draw
with creating Sparks
5000 people joined London's drawing marathon on 30 September 2000, transforming
the South Kensington Museums' subway into a quarter mile long artist's studio.
Attracting young and old, experienced and inexperienced, the event buzzed with
excitement and creativity. Passers-by were intrigued by the variety of drawings
which emerged on easels and walls during the day - depicting every subject from
butterflies to Buckminsterfullerene. Dr Jonathan Hare from the University of
Sussex's Creative Science Centre graphically charted the discovery and
composition of this fascinating new football-shaped carbon molecule.
