The Braw Big Draw

The Big Draw launch highlighted the
importance of drawing across the ages; it took place across all parts of The
National Galleries of Scotland.

Families and adults visiting the National Gallery of Scotland were invited to
take part in an extraordinary visual banquet, inspired by The Feast of Herod by
Peter Paul Rubens.

|
|
Those who ventured downstairs, to the new underground spaces linking the
National Gallery to the Royal Scottish Academy Building, had the chance to
explore life below the surface.

|
|
At the beautiful Scottish National Portrait Gallery in nearby Queen Street, the
emphasis was on memories, with a series of special workshops aimed at older
visitors, linked to The Healing Touch exhibition.

|
Dare to Draw, at the award-winning Scottish National Gallery of Modern
Art (SNGMA), hosted an experimental drop-in-and-draw session designed for
children and adults alike.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Finally, at The Dean Gallery, families and other gallery visitors were
encouraged to explore the shape of things unseen by means of surreal drawing
games inspired by the gallery's world-class Surrealist collection.
