Big Draw 2003 South East Launch

A very busy day - the museum was packed! There were so many activities on offer, enthusuiastically taken up by nearly 2000 visitors. A very popular one was the giant Rangoli drawing, created with rice, seeds, petals and other colourful materials.

Patchwork patterns were drawn by visitors, from around the museum, to make their own mark on a huge garment.

Shadowy portraits and crazy costumes - visitors drew themselves in disguise using the collections for inspiration.

There were 10 second sketches and 3 minute masterpieces with unusual materials - for busy people.

Visitors worked with a cartoonist in the Willett Gallery to create their own cartoon drawings. And, as expected, face painting was a hugely popular activity.
