The Big Draw Free-for-All
2 & 3 October 2004
Attingham opened the doors of its magnificent house and parkland
free for the entire weekend. Sketchpads and pencils were provided for visitors
to recreate the glories of the Hall. In an estate-wide drawing festival,
visitors were asked to record memories and impressions of the site and its
place in history.Activities included environmental sculpture with Wren Miller,
recreating horses from Attingham's heyday with Caroline Saunders, learning
cartooning with Malcolm Whittal, creating wllow flowers with Jacqui Leech, or
drawing people in Regency finery and decorating paper costumes with Euryl
Stephens. A popular workshop was led by Alexis Deacon, a leading children's
book illustrator with Random House.
